About Catherine Turner
Author | Content Creator | Writing Coach | Book Marketing Genius
Have you heard the Chinese curse, may you have an interesting life? To that, I say, “Bring it on!” My fire dancing/showgirl career spanned five years and lasted until my son was born in 2010. I toured the Caribbean casino and resort circuit along the Antilles Chain with my husband and a rotating cast of international circus performers aboard our 47 ft. sailboat. Before moving to the Caribbean, I owned an award-winning nightclub in the Mission District of San Francisco and was a music impresario. In my spare time, I hosted and taught popular pop-up yoga events in Bay Area warehouses, galleries, and community spaces.
When age and motherhood forced me to retire from show business, I became a successful travel writer. My contributions have appeared in many publications including The Tradewinds, Conde Nast’s Caribbean Travel & Life, Onboard Online, and the Caribbean Compass. In addition, I’ve written two novels and I’m finishing up my first nonfiction book.
In 2016, I co-founded the popular Caribbean tourism website What To Do Virgin Islands. In one short year, the readership of What To Do VI exploded to over 240,000. After hurricanes Irma and Maria destroyed 90% of the buildings on the island where I lived, including my home, my partner and I sold What To Do to CD Holdings, a Virgin Islands tourism conglomerate.
I relocated to the Reno area and founded the small press Daily House. Now, I am committed to the financial success of authors and aspiring authors. On staff, I have a certified social media manager and a developmental editor with 18 years of publishing experience. With my staff, we provide all aspects of book production and marketing.
